WEATHERED METAL

Aluminum tape is applied criss-cross to the cover - then I added alcohol inks. The book itself is made from the cardboard ends of a large empty ribbon spool I got from a fabric store. I took the ends off the spool and folded them in half. Instant book! I covered the back and part of the front with a material called Etal which is a metal fabric.

I am so glad you took photos of the inside of this lovely book. You did a great job with it and recycling the cover really made me smile.

What a wonderful effect those tapes and inks give and it feels so right here.

Wow... what inspirational work. especially taken with the spool book with metal cover. I use HVAC repair tape; is that what you're referring too? Or is there something else to add to my toolkit?! The journal cover is fabulous too. Tom

Totally cool shape of the book. I love that you repurposed something for this. I love the way it looks. I also really like your beeswax pieces - they still look good in the photo although I imagine they look even better in person. I'm feeling inspired to use beeswax again. Thanks. Hi Tom,
Yes, the aluminum tape is the HVAC repair tape, no need to purchase anything else....:))
A very nice lady sent me some in the mail.
Thanks so much for all the kind words.

hugs,
Daphne
