Textures on Newspaper pages

I was playing with a variety of textures on torn strips of newspaper. After tearing the sheets freehand, I glued two pieces together to make the pages more sturdy, but not the same height. I then proceeded to paint, spritz, and apply molding paste through stencils onto the pages. I also did some stamping.

I then folded them in half and placed them inside a leather cover, and stitched just one signature.

The brass clasp is from the hardware store....just love going there for supplies!

Week 40 - Documented Life Project

Week 40 of The Documented Life Project was a joy to play with...three colours I never use. The centre of the hearts are fabric; the blue I really had a tough time finding in my stash!

Paper bag album with fabric cover

This is a large paper bag album made with bags from our local liquor store. They sure are sturdy!
I made the cover using heavy drill fabric, collaging trims and scrap material all over. Both covers have transfers from magazine photos.
The pages are the Mariposa stack paper collection and sewn with a Coptic binding, complete with three pockets for treasures.

Cosmetic pouch

Do you ever think, "I can never have enough cosmetic bags"?
They keep, or give the illusion of keeping, my purse organized.
I whipped this one up today, after reading a really nice tutorial at http://www.noodle-head.com/2010/10/scrappy-make-up-pouch-tutorial_20.html

I used upholstery material, and lined it as well.

Do you indulge in these little helpers, as I do?

Documented Life Project, Week 27

Week 27 - Add crossword puzzle, Sudoku, or word search to your page.
Collage of newspaper puzzles, gessoed over, inked with Distress stamp pads, alpha stencils with paints and paste, and an image of a lady reading or doing her puzzles, of course!
