These are fabric pieces painted with acrylics using the gelli plate, then stitched together employing the Japanese boro method of patching. Two of the pieces are sun-printed.
Mono printing with the gelli plate is so much fun! Give it a try.

Inspiration Wednesday #5 - May 4, 2015

Joint compound is used here as the texture maker, laces are embedded at the bottom of the left page. The right page features plaster of Paris with buttons embedded. The inclusion has a skin made of gel pushed through a handmade stencil of a sewing form. The pink dress is a mask placed on the page whilst I plastered around it with the joint compound. All paints were applied and partially wiped away after the compound was fully dry.

Textures on Newspaper pages
I was playing with a variety of textures on torn strips of newspaper. After
tearing the sheets freehand, I glued two pieces together to make the pages more
sturdy, but not the same height. I then proceeded to paint, spritz, and apply
molding paste through stencils onto the pages. I also did some stamping.
I then folded them in half and placed them inside a leather cover, and
stitched just one signature.
The brass clasp is from the hardware store....just love going there for
supplies!

Week 40 - Documented Life Project
Week 40 of The Documented Life Project was a joy to play with...three colours I never use. The centre of the hearts are fabric; the blue I really had a tough time finding in my stash!
